CHAPLAIN'S RELIGIOUS ENRICHMENT DEVELOPMENT OPERATION
CHAPLAIN'S RELIGIOUS ENRICHMENT DEVELOPMENT OPERATION (CREDO)
830-6464 / 760-725-4954 (Camp Pendleton)

The Chaplains Religious Enrichment Development Operation   (CREDO) is sponsored by the Commandant of the Marine Corps (CMC) through the Navy Chief of Chaplains.

CREDO’s vision is to awaken Sea Service members and their families to the inherent personal and social strength available by living healthy spiritual lives.

The CREDO Approach

CREDO builds supportive relationships.  In a caring community, participants learn how to relate to themselves, others and God.  They discover meaning sand satisfaction.

CREDO develops a greater appreciation of others.  By exploring one another’s feelings
of loneliness and alienation, participants come to an awakening of the spiritual dimension
in life they discover the value of self and others.

Who Is Eligible?

  • Sea Service members (with NO-COST TAD Orders from their Command)
  • Family members of Sea Service personnel
  • Retirees
  • Reservists on Drilling Status

What Is The Cost?
CREDO weekends are provided at NO COST to participants.  Meals, lodging and transportation are provided at NO COST to participants. (*Marriage Enrichment Weekend participants are asked to provide personal transportation to workshop site.)

The CREDO Weekend
CREDO offers workshops conducted by CREDO Chaplains.  The weekend is an informal experience where participants can lay aside the many distractions which crowd their lives.  Men and women, known to each other by first names only, join together to build trusting relationships with people of different backgrounds, cultures, and life experiences.  The gathering is spiritual rather than religious, supportive rather than group therapeutic.  A CREDO weekend, know as Personal Growth Retreat (PGR), lasts 72 hours.
Participants experience spiritual, emotional and interpersonal growth.  The impact of the weekend and follow-up group sessions are enriching and often life changing.
