ONGOING CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS

STORY-TIME (Ages 2-5)
Story-time is an interactive program combining books, songs, and movement. Children listen to stories read aloud, sing songs, practice counting and learning the alphabet, and participate in a craft or activity. 

Mondays & Wednesdays: 10:30 – 11:30am
Tuesdays: 2:00 – 3:00pm

BILINGUAL STORY TIME (Ages 2-5)
3rd Wednesday of the Month, 10:30 - 11:30am

READ & PLAY (Ages 0-2)
Read & Play includes song, stories, finger play, and other developmental activities designed especially for our youngest patrons.
Tuesdays: 10:30 – 11:30 am

MAKERSPACE FOR CHILDREN & TEENS
Makerspace projects specifically geared toward involving Children and Teens in a social session of mechanical and technical creativity. Space is limited to 10 attendees in each class. Please contact Shadow Mountain Branch library to register in advance.

Makerspace for Children every last Wednesday 3:30 - 4:30pm (Ages 4 - 6)
Makerspace for Teens every last Friday 3:30 - 4:30pm (Ages 7 - 12)

SUMMER READING PROGRAM 
Come join the Shadow Mountain Branch Library throughout the summer for games, crafts, and all kinds of themed fun. Patrons of all ages can work towards age-appropriate reading goals all summer long.  Log minutes online or in person at the Shadow Mountain Library.

MAKE & TAKE CRAFT
First Thursday of the Month from 3:30 - 5:00pm at Shadow Mountain Branch Library, Bldg. 692 (Adults 18 + only)
(Registration is Essential)

BOARD AT THE LIBRARY 
Every 2nd Saturday of the Month from 12:00 - 4:00pm at Combat Center Library, Bldg. 1524 (Adults 18 + only)
(No Registration Necessary)

DROP IN AND SEW
2nd Thursday of the Month from 10:00am - 1:00pm at Shadow Mountain Branch Library, Bldg. 692 (Adults 18 + only)
(Registration is Essential) 

          


CHECKING OUT MATERIALS

In order to checkout materials from the library, patrons must have a library account. There are two ways to open a new library account. The first option is to visit either of the two libraries on base and open an account at the service desk. Please bring a valid ID card and up-to-date contact information. A library card will be issued within at this time.

The second option is to sign-up online. If you choose the online option you will not get a library card until you visit the service desk at the library.

Interlibrary loans from other Marine Corps libraries are available upon request.


UNITED THROUGH READING

Service members can stay connected with their families throughout a deployment. United Through Reading allows service members who are about to deploy an opportunity to record themselves reading a story to a child in their life. This program is free of charge and is done in private at the service member’s convenience. Please call the Shadow Mountain Branch Library or stop by to set up an appointment.
