Southern California Edison (SCE) has notified the base of the upcoming power outage beginning at 8:30 p.m. on Monday, February 6, until 6:30 a.m.on Tuesday, February 7. Given the nature of this outage, all base personnel, including housing residents, should be prepared to be without power during this period of time. During the outage, critical and emergency essential facilities will receive power from the Co-generation plant or emergency generators. To facilitate this, Public Works will be placing mobile generators at key facilities off the co-generation grid starting at 1:00 p.m. on 30 January and again on 6 February. At 3:00 p.m., power to non-essential facilities in the core area of the base (generally from 1st street to 9th street) will start to be shut down and will remain without power for the duration of the outage. The remainder of base will continue to have power until SCE shuts off the power at 8:30 p.m.. If additional information is needed prior to the outage, please call G4 Operations at 830-6100 or 830-3718. The Combat Center Emergency Operations Center (EOC) will be activated for the outage from 6:00 p.m. on 30 January and on 6 February until power is restored. Contact the EOC for non-emergency issues or questions regarding the power outage at 830-7923 or 830-7159. For life threatening emergencies during the outage call 830-3333 or 830-3334 immediately. |
