Katie Clark, family readiness officer for 7th Marines, joined the
Twentynine Palms team in March of 2009. She is certainly not new to the Marine Corps though. Katie has been married to her Marine for 16 years and
has two older brothers who are both Marines. She is also not new to
Twentynine Palms. Her husband was stationed here as a Lance Corporal when
they met and married.
Katie previously volunteered as a key volunteer and a key volunteer
coordinator throughout her Marine spouse tenure. While stationed at Camp
Pendleton, she was the key volunteer coordinator for an infantry battalion.
After surviving her first deployment as key volunteer coordinator, Katie was
told by many of her families that it was the best deployment they had been
through with regard to the key volunteer network.
Katie is excited to jump headlong into meeting the needs of her families
here. “I’m looking forward to seeing more of what’s new here, on base and in
town,” she said. She and her children, ages 10 and 15, participate in
MCCS/MCFTB activities and enjoy getting involved in all that the Combat
Center has to offer. She believes that her own involvement gives her better
insight and credibility to encourage her 7th Marines families’
participation. |
